A little about me
Hi there. I'm Amber. I have three children and a husband who I adore. We live on a lake in Frederick, Maryland. I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with a BFA in Graphic Design. I do the design thing still but I've been pulled into the realm of photography and I apparently can't let it go. I've been taking pictures since my parents got me a Kodak Ektralite 10 when I was little. We used to put our film in a basket on my dad's desk. He would take our rolls to get developed once a month. When they came back it was like pay day. I forgot about that until I just wrote it now. I took photography classes in high school and college but I had no idea it would take me to where I am today.
I like people. People are weird. I enjoy weird people. I spend a lot of time with my clients. I love to know what makes you. My favorite part of photographing you is getting to know all the you up until then. I remember all the things. I especially remember how you look at people you love and if you see them. Really see them.
I cry at all the weddings I shoot. But I'm not an overly emotional person, I just have really awesome, loving clients. My own photographs make me cry and I know that sounds conceited but why would you hire someone who takes photos that don't make you cry? I was THERE. I witnessed the thing and yet I still cry while I edit the moment you became husband and wife and I SHOULD cry. YOU SHOULD. You should cry every time you look at your wedding photos. If you don't, I did it wrong. And I haven't yet, nor do I intend to.
I don't bullshit. I like real people who like each other and I won't tell you how to look at each other. I ask you how you do, and then you do, and then I take a picture of it. It's very simple. It's lovely.
